ALCHEMY CALL FOR VOLUNTEER BOARD MEMBERS - SECRETARY/TREASURER
Alchemy, an Ontario-based artist residency rooted in art, food, farm, and community, invites applications for new board members to serve a two-year term. Alchemy has been a prominent presence on the Toronto Islands since its founding in 2015. We will celebrate our 10th year of programming in 2024, including our 8th Harvest Season in Prince Edward County. Since its inception, more than 100 artists from around the world have participated in our initiatives.
We seek a new board member with a strong connection to Prince Edward County, Ontario. We particularly encourage applications from individuals with backgrounds, which include the arts, viticulture, and the local business community.
In 2024, our primary focus is to sustain and enhance our artist residency program, securing funding to bring guest artists from Canada and around the world to Prince Edward County and the Toronto Islands.
Ideal candidates will possess:
- Previous experience on a non-profit board or related governance experience, focusing on fundraising, and finance/business.
- High personal ethical standards.
- Strong communication and networking skills, with a proven ability to collaborate with diverse community members.
- Availability 6-10 hours monthly, could be more if a special project or additional funding is identified during the course of the term
This three-member board meets bi-monthly or as necessary to consider our interest and capacity for projects related to the four pillars of activity. Interested individuals are invited to submit a brief email, CV, or a summary of relevant experience by February 15th, 2024.
